KA Magazine teams up with Ashley King, Recording Artist and Art Director of KA – to create this eye-catching music video, filmed and directed by Kevin Allwood. The track is “Bang Bang”, a re-vibe of the original by Nancy Sinatra, showing Miss King’s urban take on a classic song, which also features hip hop artist Stallz. We have a glimpse of the video’s preview edit (not the final release!) just to give enough of a tease for the BIRDS.VS.MONKEYS musical project being released later this summer. I guess the question remains now: What is BIRDS.VS.MONKEYS?…Watch the video in immerse yourself in the vibe.

This might sound simple enough, but in a world that is daily becoming more and more homogeneous, this is no easy task. Jihae is definitely doing her thing and it is working. Baptiste, Baptiste, where fore art thow Baptiste? Everywhere, would be the answer. In 2009, when Naomi met with Baptiste in Moscow she told him: “It’s not right, we all have defects…You have none.” In an interview with WWD Karl Lagerfeld described Baptiste as “A boy version of Gisele: skinny, but with an athletic body— good for clothes and great with no clothes.”

Where the heck to start? Baptiste is not only reported to be the highest paid male model in the world, but is the male muse for none-other than Karl Lagerfeld. We are sure to see much more creative work from this model/musician, buzz and romance aside. Baptiste was placed no.1 on models.com for roughly two straight years and now he is on the more prominent “icons” list of male models. Singer/songwriter Ashley King’s journey to her debut album “Love Revolution” was full of ups and downs.
This album, 4 years in the making, has seen this 23 year old artist grow from strength to strength.
How did it take four years to make an album? Well, it seems this artist made a first album two years ago,
but her range continued to grow at such
a rapid pace, that she felt she needed to continue creating until the vibe was right, and until it
clearly became “Ashley King”. Ashley’s sound has been described as a young Sade— but not necessarily in the vocal delivery (which
in her case ranges from strong and heart wrenching
as in the song “Love Revolution” to soft and seductive like the track “Never had a love like that”).
This album is definitely not about having a single track that catches you, while the rest just hangs on for
the ride. Ashley gives us all that she has, but leaves us knowing she still has plenty more where that came
from.
